Recent property sales in the Town of Amenia

The Millerton News will periodically publish a listing of residential real estate sales in eastern Dutchess County and adjacent towns. Recorded real estate activity in Amenia for June and July includes sales of raw land, a Silo Ridge property, single-family residences and commercial properties.

This information is taken from Dutchess County records and may include private transaction without the involvement of a real estate brokerage firm. June and July sales included five single-family homes, one piece of residential land, one commercial lot, and three commercial buildings including the former Cozy Corner and the commercial building on Route 22 that is home to Fudgy’s during the ice cream season.

 

June 2023

60 Willow Lane, 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms on 1.77 acres, sold for $305,000.

14 Troutbeck Crescent, 5 bedrooms, 5 baths on on 4 acres, sold for $912,500.

Silo Ridge, Oak Tree Lane, a 1.64-acre lot, sold for $3,121,875.

Mechanic Street, land zoned commercial on 3.5 acres, sold for $20,000.

3330 Route 343, formerly the Cozy Corner, a commercial building, sold for $900,000.

July 2023

50 Lake Amenia Road, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths on .09 acres, sold for $140,000.

50 Railroad Ave., 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, sold for $95,000.

83 Power House Road, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, sold for $455,000.

3300 Route 343, a detached row building and storage on .064 acres, sold for $575,000.

4789 Route 22, a detached commercial row building of 5,084 square feet, sold for $850,000.

SHARON — The turning of the dirt signaled the hope for four families to find their dream of affordable housing.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on Sept. 29 at the former Community Center on Gay Street (Route 41) where the Sharon Housing Trust is planning to place four affordable units. Dignitaries, including Commissioner of Housing Selia Mosquera-Bruno, were in attendance, along with many Sharon residents and members of affordable housing organizations from around the region.

LaBonne’s Markets responds to outcry over shrimp label

The label bearing the hotly disputed “Gulf of America” designation was changed via an order by LaBonne’s Markets to its wholesaler.

SALISBURY — Within a day of Salisbury shoppers complaining about a frozen shrimp label bearing the federally-mandated “Gulf of America” place name, LaBonne’s Markets had already had it changed.

Rob LaBonne III, president of the four-location grocery store chain, said the label alteration had actually been ordered long before complaints began in town.
