CANAAN — Robert Anthony Cooke, 62, of Canaan, Connecticut, passed away suddenly on Nov. 14, 2025. Bob was born on April 22, 1963, son of the late Victor and Eleanor Cooke of Millerton, New York.

Bob graduated from Webutuck High School in 1981 and attended college at SUNY, Canton and Columbia Greene. He loved golf, traveling, walks on the beach and spending time with friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Whitbeck), his son, Jordan and his wife Crystal and their three children; Madeline, Hudson and Bowen, his daughter Jala and her fiancé Ayden, brother George and his wife Joyce, sister Margaret Gregoire, brother Thomas and his wife Cathy, brother Joe and his wife Karen, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 28 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Barrington Hall (formerly Chrissy Farm), 426 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington, Massachusetts. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the North Canaan Ambulance, 15 E. Main Street, North Canaan, CT or to the American Heart Association, online at heart.org. Arrangements are under the care of the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home, 118 Main Street, North Canaan, CT.

Millerton's holiday decoration contest still open to competitors

MILLERTON — The Village of Millerton is inviting residents and businesses to enter its annual house decorating contest, with judging now underway through Dec. 28.

Awards will be presented in several categories, including Best Lights, Most Creative, Best Overall and Best Commercial Front.
