MILLBROOK — Merritt Bookstore welcomed famed Emmy award-winning American actress and producer and now author, Julianna Margulies, on Wednesday, June 30, to sign copies of her popular new memoir, “Sunshine Girl.”

The visit was not announced, but for those customers who were in the store it was an unexpected treat when they got to meet Margulies, noted for her starring roles in television series such as “ER” and most recently, “The Good Wife,” which also starred Litchfield County, Conn., resident Christine Baranski.

“Sunshine Girl” tells the story of Margulies’ life growing up with divorced parents, living all over the world, in Paris, England, New York and New Hampshire. The title is based off the pet name she had as a young child.

The book is currently on sale at Merritt Bookstore, 57 Front St., in Millbrook, where some autographed copies may still be available.

The Merritt Bookstore and Toystore is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
