Recent property sales in Millerton

The Millerton News will periodically publish a listing of residential real estate sales in eastern Dutchess County and adjacent towns.

The Village of Millerton encompasses only half a square mile with around 900 residents within its borders. It’s not surprising that property sales are infrequent. In the five months ending in November, only five residential sales were recorded. Four of the five houses had been purchased within the last five years, three since COVID-19 in 2020, and then resold. Village living has become more popular and prices on village homes continue to rise. Currently there are only three homes for sale, two of which are listed for over $600,000.

July 2023 Sales

29 North Maple Ave., single-family with 3 bedrooms, 1 bath on a .19-acre lot, sold for $309,900.

September 2023 Sales

9 David Road, a home with an accessory apartment with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, sold for $360,000.

56 Simmons St., a single-family home with 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, sold for $475,000.

October 2023 Sales

81 Main St., a single-family home with 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, sold for $450,000.

November Sales

19 Highland St., a single-family home with 816 square feet and 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, sold for $320,000.

Village of Millerton real estate sales recorded as sold between July 1, 2023 and November 30, 2023 sourced from monthly Dutchess County Real Property Tax Service Agency.

While the chill of recent weeks has driven many Northwest Corner residents inside and their energy bills up, others have taken advantage of the extended cold by practicing some of our region’s most treasured — and increasingly rare — pastimes: ice sports.

I am one of those who goes out rather than in when the mercury drops: a one-time Peewee and Bantam league hockey player turned pond hockey enthusiast turned general ice lover. In the winter, my 12 year-old hockey skates never leave my trunk, on the chance I’ll pass some gleaming stretch of black ice on a roadside pond.
