Fire department President Matt Rochfort and fire Chief Dominic Boscardin announced that this year’s fire department block party will take place on Thursday, July 6, Friday, July 7. and Saturday, July 8, in front of the Front Street Fire Department, with food, games, a bounce house, music, food and drink. The Dutchess County Volunteer Fireman’s Convention Parade will be on Saturday, July 8, at 6 P.M.

Board of education (BOE) President Perry Hartswick was present, as much discussion has been taking place concerning traffic, parking and school buses, especially on Elm Drive and Alden Place. The outcome of the evening’s discussion is that the mayor and the deputy mayor will work, with input from the public, on proposals for solutions and then will be in touch with the BOE.

A public hearing was opened for any further input on amended proposals to the changes in the Village traffic codes. The changes from April’s meeting per the traffic codes were a one-hour expansion of the on-street snow ordinance, making it no parking after midnight instead of 1 a.m..

The other was to reinstate the hours of no parking on Elm Drive back to 8:30- 9:30 a.m., and 3-4 p.m. The village attorney discussed the need for a SEQR resolution; that done, a resolution was made to adopt the amended Village Code.

The next Village of Millbrook Trustee meeting is on Wednesday, June 14, at 6 p.m. at the Millbrook Fire Department, 20 Front St., or on YouTube.
