Registration open for Millbrook’s December “Parade of Lights”

MILLBROOK — The season of holiday cheer is coming up particularly for serious parade float or decorated vehicle designers.

The Millbrook Fire Department has announced that registration is now open for businesses, organizations, teams or individuals to be a part of the Parade of Lights scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6. Lining up will start at 4:30 p.m., with the parade to start promptly at 6 p.m.

Rules governing participation are numerous, but sensible. They include prohibition of anyone walking, or the throwing of candy or displaying of political signs or flags. Every entry is to feature lighting, but no headlights on vehicles.

No Santa impersonators are permitted in displays, as Santa himself is scheduled to appear in person on the lead float. The single theme of the parade is the holiday. Drivers of vehicles must be licensed and insured.

Additional rules and more information can be obtained by emailing secretary@millbrookfirerescue.org.
