MILLERTON — Chris Choe, owner with his wife Kim of the future Millerton Supermarket on Route 44, said in an interview with The Millerton News that the food market will open within months, possibly by October.

Choe said the delay of the opening was due to the couple’s opening of Market 360, a 20,000 square foot supermarket in downtown New Haven, Connecticut, on June 4.

Choe was interviewed in an aisle of the Sharon Farm Market in Sharon, which the couple also operates.

Now that the New Haven market is up and running, the Choes will be turning their attention to the Millerton site that they purchased in November 2024 for $1.75 million. The Millerton market is on the site of the former Grand Union.

Choe promised a large Asian food selection.

AMENIA — The Housing Board has considered an application from Silo Ridge and issued its recommendation to the Planning Board at a regular meeting on Thursday, July 17, to require that workforce housing regulations are met.

Because Silo Ridge is seeking to amend its Master Development Plan through an application to the Planning Board, and because the Silo Ridge Development consists of more than 10 dwelling units, workforce housing requirements must be accommodated either through construction of designated workforce housing units or through payment of a fee to the town to substitute for those units. Administration of workforce housing requirements is the responsibility of the Housing Board.
