AMENIA — During a brief special meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14, the Town Board voted unanimous approval to adopt the final draft of the town’s 2025 budget for the year beginning Jan. 1.

Projecting total town expenditures of $4,150,595 in support of the General Fund and the Highway Fund, the total to be raised by taxes stands at $2,694,075.

By the same resolution, the mill rate was set at 2.02076 per $1,000 of assessed value, an increase of 4.5% in the mill rate over the current year. The 2024 mill rate was 1.93296 per $1,000. Under the formula for the new rate, a home assessed for $200,000, for example, will expect to pay about $4,040 in annual property taxes.
