Ancram home sales pick up after silent April

ANCRAM — After no recorded deed transfers in April, spring selling has arrived in Ancram with four sales of homes and land recorded in May. Only two homes traded hands including another million-dollar sale on modest acreage on Wildflower Hill and two sales of vacant land. Nine homes are currently listed for sale ranging from $12 million to $90,500.

30 Doodletown Road — 3 bedroom/1 bath 1,812 square feet on 2 acres sold by Tisha William Rothvoss as Administrator to Karly Rothvoss and Eric Shutts for $249,107.62 recorded on May 8.

1675 County Route 7, Westfall Road — 18.24 acres vacant land sold by Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton Shrager to Markella Los and Jason Mortara for $470,000 recorded on May 13.

48 Wildflower Hill Road — 3 bedroom/3.5 bath 2,367 square foot home on 3.39 acres sold by Katherine Mosby Trust by Katherine Mosby Trustee to Psyche Farms LLC recorded on May 5 for $1,175,000 on May 2.

County Route 3 — Vacant residential land sold by Keith D. Valden to Homewrights Development LLC for $400,000 transferred on May 22.

There is a scene in “The King of In Between,” a documentary about musician Garland Jeffreys, that shows his name as the answer to a question on the TV show “Jeopardy!”

“This moment was the film in a nutshell,” said Claire Jeffreys, the film’s producer and director, and Garland’s wife of 40 years. “Nobody knows the answer,” she continued. “So, you’re cool enough to be a Jeopardy question, but you’re still obscure enough that not one of the contestants even had a glimmer of the answer.”
