Dutchess County Sheriff's Report

The following information was provided by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office as the Harlem Valley area activity report for Dec. 7-14.

 

Dec. 7 — Deputies arrested Kasimer J. Koehring, 27, for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Nine Partners Lane in Millbrook. Subject to appear in the Town of Washington Court at a later date.   

 

Dec. 7 — Deputies investigated a car versus bear property damage automobile accident that occurred on State Route 44 in the Town of Amenia. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation was also notified.

 

Dec. 9 — Deputies responded to 18 Sinpatch Road in the Town of Amenia to investigate a reported disturbance between two females. Matter resolved without further police intervention. 

 

Dec. 11 — Deputies responded to the area of 3322 Route 343 in the Town of Amenia for a car versus pedestrian accident resulting in minor injury. Matter investigated and documented.

All persons arrested and charged are alleged to have committed the crime and are presumed innocent until proven guilty and are to appear in local courts later.

Dutchess County officials issued a travel ban on all public roads from 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for much of upstate New York on Friday. Forecasts call for between 10 and 20 inches of snow across northeast Dutchess County.

Town Board takes up suggested zoning code changes

Members of the North East Town Board discuss proposed zoning code revisions during a meeting at North East Town Hall in Millerton on Monday, Jan. 19.

MILLERTON — The North East Town Board on Monday, Jan. 19, adopted a series of detailed revisions to its proposed zoning code overhaul, incorporating feedback from county and local agencies as well as public comments.

Zoning Review Commission Chair Edie Greenwood and the town’s zoning consultant, Will Agresta, participated in the meeting as board members reviewed comments submitted by Dutchess County Planning, the North East Planning Board, the town’s Conservation Advisory Council, and residents who spoke or submitted written remarks during the initial public hearing on Jan. 8.
