Amenia Garden Club plans fall talk and bulb giveaway

AMENIA — Every garden is a season-long adventure and at season’s end, there are stories to tell.

The Amenia Garden Club invites residents to gather for its Fall Garden Talk, titled “What I Did in the Garden this Summer.” The program will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, at The Amenia Free Library, beginning at 2 p.m.

All gardeners are invited to share gardening stories and photos, too. Whether native species were planted to please the butterflies, or something new was attempted, or unexpected challenges cropped up, fellow gardeners will want to hear about it. They will cheer the success stories and commiserate over whatever seemed to go wrong. Chances are, it happened to them, too.

Photos will be welcome. Gardeners are advised to send up to four photos for inclusion in a slide show as part of the program. Send photos to ameniagardenclub@gmail.com.

Everyone is encouraged to attend, whether or not there are stories to share. Listeners and learners are also most welcome.

Fall bulb giveaway

The Amenia Garden Club is giving away free fall bulbs to its members. The free bulbs will be available for pickup starting at the Oct. 25 talk. Members unable to attend the meeting will receive an email detailing how to obtain their bulbs.
