AMENIA — Ann Southworth Lango, 80, of Marathon, New York, passed away, following a brief battle with cancer, on Aug. 20, 2026. Born Dec. 1, 1945, in Canton, New York, to the late Robert and Virginia Southworth, she was the loving wife of John Lango for 61 years.
Ann lived a life rooted in faith, joy, and family. Formerly of Amenia, New York, she attended Sharon Congregational Church and enjoyed daily treadmill walks, travel adventures and filling her home with laughter. Later, serving as a greeter at Lapeer Christian Church, her warm welcomes and sense of humor brought light to all who knew her. Her family rejoices knowing she is peacefully in the presence of God.
She was predeceased by her brother Charles (Magda) Southworth. She is survived by her husband, John; brother, Bill Southworth (Penny Welch); sister-in-law, Ann (Richard) Carberry; children, Ken (Sue) Lango and Cindy (Phil) Kay; grandchildren, Nick Lango, Chris (Bri) Lango, Kendra (Noah) Chalifour, and Javen Kay; great-grandchildren, Sean and Abigail Lango; and extended nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at Lapeer Christian Church at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, with an available YouTube live stream (http://youtube.com/@lapeerchristianchurch). Private interment in Seneca Falls, New York. Memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to Lapeer Christian Church.
