Chris Gilette, left, and John Conklin of Lakeville, Conn., spent Saturday, Feb. 27, at a local hard water fishery in the Salisbury area as a fun way to spend a winters’ day during the coronavirus lock down, “enjoying nature, fresh air and good companionship while producing fine-table fare,” said Conklin. The friends caught mostly yellow perch, 21 of them, in fact, most with roe, “which are delicious if prepared properly,” reported the duo, who added that “fresh air, friendship and a positive attitude can help overcome this crisis.” They said they wanted one last ice-fishing excursion before spring arrives on Saturday, March 20.
